420 LATAM present at the 1st Psychedelic Science Medical Symposium.

From January 30th to February 1st, 2025, Mexico City hosted the 1st Psychedelic Science Medical Symposium, an event that not only brought together scientists and experts from various countries across the Americas but also honored the roots and traditions of ancestral medicines as sacred tools for holistic well-being.

Representing 420 LATAM, Carlos Alberto León, Legal Representative, and Ricardo Almanza, Executive Director, attended to learn, share, and strengthen our vision of a future where ancestral knowledge and modern science converge. It was not only a space to explore therapeutic advancements in psychedelics but also a tribute to the sacred medicines of indigenous peoples. The worldview of service, respect, and connection with all living beings on the planet was present in every conversation, lecture, and ceremony, reminding us that these ancestral teachings form a foundational basis for building modern and ethical solutions.

Our team’s participation underscored 420 LATAM’s commitment to integrating these medicines and their wisdom into strategies that promote collective well-being while honoring the traditions that have preserved this knowledge for centuries.

Some of the event’s most significant moments included:

• Lectures on sacred medicines: Indigenous leaders and scientists discussed how substances like peyote, ayahuasca, and psilocybin mushrooms have been used for generations as tools for healing and spiritual connection.
• Worldview of service: The focus of indigenous communities on service and caring for all living beings was highlighted, emphasizing that ancestral medicines are not just therapeutic tools but also a bridge to a deeper understanding of our relationship with the planet.
• Collaborations between science and tradition: Dialogue between doctors, therapists, and indigenous leaders explored how modern science can work together with traditional knowledge to create positive, respectful, and sustainable impacts.
